Rochelle - The Struggling CookHi!  My name is Rochelle, and I welcome you to my site.  If you have spent any time looking around, then you already know that I struggle in the kitchen with meals.  I decided to create this website to help get me on track, and keep me there.  Plus, I figured I am probably not alone in my struggles.  Maybe someone else will benefit from what I am going through.

Cookbooks have long been a passion of mine (you can see my collection of them in the video below).  You would think I am a great cook if you simply look at the number of books I have on the subject, but, sadly, this just is not true.

My mother-in-law has long tried to offer me tips to give me confidence in the kitchen, but it has not yet helped.  Ironically, a week or so ago she sent me a book called, “100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know.”  I say ironically because she had no idea I was creating this website.  I laughed when I opened the package, and thought, “How perfect!”  So, the very first recipe I try for this site will come from that book.

My intention with this website is to share with you my struggles and triumphs, and I will video myself on occasion as I cook.  I will also share tips and tricks that I learn along the way, as well as any really helpful videos that I might find.  I will also discuss some of the tools that I use and why I like them.  Tools might be as simple as measuring cups, or as complex as an appliance that I use for cooking, such as my pressure cooker.  Whatever it might be, I’ll share my knowledge and thoughts.

I invite you to join me on my journey.  I do not know how long it will take before I feel comfortable with meal planning and cooking, but I am determined to get there.  Feel free to offer me advice and tips that will help me as I learn how to cook.
